From the onlookers...

There is a cosy family of three who live next door.
Their home is 2ft/0.5 ft big.
And we share the same window!

That's baby dov-dove and biiigga dov-dove for you
in the softest tone that your vocal cord can provide ( husky i say)
Just as my daughter calls them.

We, my daughter and me
have been observing them for quite sometime now,
from inbetween the glass panels.
Intrusion of privacy?? we just topped the Bush Govt!!,
anyway and found two things of note ...

ONE.
The young ones are a riot.
In whichever world they are born.

Just when the mama tries to relax a wee bit the young one is all alert.
It tries to squeeze out from underneath her belly,
growing rebellious and almost succeeds in taking a peek at the outside world.
Until mama shoves it back, right where it belongs -
Under her wings!

TWO.
Papa and mama doves take equal turns in sitting on the riotous young one.
Incredible to see that the animal-(bird) world is more equal and progressive than ours! ;)

My daughter seems to say yes to point two.
but not so much to point one!

Haha man is but an animal.

I like the point of their world being more equal and progressive than ours.
