Nobody needs to save the earth.

Of all the slogans and outcry one has heard and seen,
'Save the earth' propoganda is the most
outrageous.
Or should i say, a huge sham!

This thought is hearsay and not my own.
But i really really wish it had been my own though.
for instance,

the o-zone layer issue,
the ice melting in the poles,
the back to the ice age scare,
Extreme climate/ weather change,
deforestation!
pollution,
Nuclear war,
the list doesnt stop here...

These are right around the corner and will eventually
destroy the good earth. right?
Wrong.
Well, earth has survived all of the above for millions of years now.
ice ages have come and gone and earth has lived through all that,
quite effortlessly i should say.

So when they say 'earth' they actually mean 'human race' right?
Human race cannot take the uv rays.
human race will dwindle in ice age
human race needs the forests
Nuclear war will kill the humans and other beings.
hu...

Earth doesnt give a damn.
Nobody needs to do anything to protect the earth.
It will remain round and bald or round and completely white
for another few billion years until it gets engulfed into the Sun
during its red giant star stage or something.

So earth as the humans know it will not be there!
that is all.
when such is the case why use the word 'earth' at all?

Save the human race!
This might just create the impact that we want you know
....er.....
actually on second thoughts whether it creates an impact or not
it will atleast be the brutal naked truth!

Damn. That article made me feel a lot better about things.

So you mean that the worst we can imagine doing is probably just making this planet either uninhabitable or living hell?

Geez, then there is nothing to worry about, is there.

After all, its just human tendency to be selfish. People cant think beyond themselves - even when they talk in support of a so-called selfless higher cause! :)

I always keep saying - 'Nothing we do ever matters coz in the bigger scheme of things, we are insignificant'.

If you go to a 'big enough' scheme of things, everything is insignificant.

Does that mean that everything in existence is insignificant?

*shrug* Geez man, Einstien! Relativity.

To us, we are significant, who gives a f about the 'bigger' scheme of things.

mmm... quite a stir.

prabhu, there is another human being at home who keeps up to date. This is just a rub off!! ;) and yeah im for that view point.

unforgiven, you do seem to have an uncanny ability to address only a part of the article. interesting. What about the other half where humans need to acknowledge the fact that it is thier lives at stake and so need to do something about that.
Earth really doesn't give a F.

ak, Yes and No.
We are significant in our times.
What we need to do is simply acknowledge the fact and be more responsible about our existence on this planet.

@ preethi: Wait. For that I'll actually need to 'read' the article, ya know? :(

Making me do so much work all the time. What is it with women?! :(

(P.S. :- Before you get all hot and bothered again :) Yes, I addressed only part of the article. Simply because, well, it was the most interesting to address. A comment saying "I agree" tends to get rather boring, dontcha think?)

I quite understand when you say you read only half of it. I do it all the time. skip, hop and jump the other blogs. But i thought you had problems comprehending the English language. u just set the record straight.

PS: u chose to write a complicated message in order to sound interesting rather than an utterly utterly simple "i agree". what can i say that is exactly what my next blog is all about. looks like i pre empted it or somethin' ;) and u ask me the relation btwn the two?? duh!!

Aha, self-referencing logic, eh? :P
So, to set the logic straight, I didn't say I write a complicated reply but instead, I 'addressed' only 'part' of the article to 'keep' the reply interesting :P

There you go.
I win! :)

Actually by doing this: 'addressed' only 'part' of the article to 'keep' the reply interesting :P
u turned it pretty complicated. becoz of which we are still discussing this ! another SRL. wat nxt?
