Tell me your name and i'll tell you who you really are!!

I'm always fascinated by names of people.
Not nicknames. Real names.
Indian names especially has so much to tell about the person.
Purely from a sociological point of view that is.
It is a kind of conscious-sub-conscious thing that happens when you hear someone's name.
And it is okay if my first opinion changes of course. That's is fun too.
I would say it's a study.
i know many of you reading are going to say
'Don't judge a book by it's cover', but indulge me a wee bit and break away from norms
and you might be surprised by things....

What has my fascination with names got anything to do with you or this blog??

I'll tell you.
most of us blogging have only our names as our identity.
So for me it has become almost a study.
Now i'll come to the point without much adieu...
There is a website that gives the analysis of a person just by knowing their first name.
'Kabalarians'
It is not astrological or anything they claim that it is science...
Interested to know about yourself and a bit more about others too.
Blog pals beware everybody is really going to know everybody else;)
The general information is free so plunge in right away...

@ romila: hey may be you should tell your other 'romila' blog pal too!

@kp: On an avg. 80% of it rings true. I did some stats on that.

Preethi, Long before I spent some time on numerology which made me reach nameology/namology. The principle was mostly based on Hebrew chart where there is a number corresponding to each alphabet. Kabalarian analysis seems to be similar?

Haha this reminds me of a short story I read in class 10. I think it was called an astrologers day.

Anyway I doubt I'd be able to create the story in a short and clear manner so I won't try but anyway one part of it talks about how the astrologer went about telling people about their future - he would say things where 9 out of 10 would be inclined to say yes.

Like I put in my name and this is one point that came out -

You desire harmony and refinement in your environment and in all your personal associations

Now who would disagree with that?

Btw I love the profile line you have - "looks like am a little bit of every human being i've met so far..."

Very true

@ deepali: yep. By R.K. Narayan. Brilliant story. On ur comment tho' i'm skeptical too but this particular website says more than our usual astro-speak, according to my obsvn at least.

Hey.... thanx for ur profile comment.

I am trying really hard about not being skeptical about things but sadly it took years of building this kind of mindset, so it's not going to go away easily.

The profile line was cool - it was something I use to tell myself long ago (you know when you are wondering if another person is worth your time, or if someone else is a 'loser' etc). It helped me be less judgemental of people. It's a brilliant observation and a wonderful thing to keep telling oneself :)

Hey deepali, just thought i can take liberty in saying this to u... If u really want some change in you( 'really' is the strees here;)) just say i want to change right this moment. That's it. If u 'try' to change u'll spend a lot of time 'trying'... so do this u'll be surprised to see how ur mind starts to obey you. It's a lot of fun..... :)

profile explanation from u is something am enjoying now. Wanted to be modest and humble ;)) i think that was my thought behind it. glad u like it..

@ bharat: Do u know where to find that chart? Have any link?

I just watched the secret - or at least 70% of it. I would so highly recommend it. I get what you mean when you say change it right away instead of trying - i guess we all just slip up and fall off the bandwagon every now and then.

Preethi, Have a look here - http://www.beyondweird.com/shadows/bos107.htm this is more of theory, but will give you a vague idea about what I mentioned. Meanwhile, if you get time go through Linda Goodman's book, she wrote something similar to this. I cant exactly figure out which book, but I think it was on sun signs. Hope this would help you.
