There is all these fleeting thoughts that pass by.
It doesn't stay long enough for me to probe into it....
maybe they have this desire to keep it that way.
fleeting...
.............................................................
like the small feeling that comes when you smell old books,
like the thoughts that come when you see a black and white photo,
like the feelings that rush into you when you hear old songs,
like the thoughts when you listen to an alien tongue that rustles like a maiden's skirt....
I wish i could capture it somehow, but it just seems like an impossible task
It is raining outside right now,
and i know it gives me a distinct feeling,
something lost and gained
yet i do not know what it is.
how i love this mind, this heart of mine which knows so many words
but yet refuses to word it
how this feeling keeps growing
how many scenes from the past, from the movies, from the books pass by every fleeting minute.
like a jar full of mud
pouring very very slowly,
there is a beauty in this rhythm,
there is a love hidden somewhere,
she peeps out now and then, how i love her games
that's it
the moment has passed, i cannot pen down anymore.

Hey, I never noticed your comment on Boredom 1. I just found it while trying to export to wordpress. Something must be wrong with blogger since it should have notified me about the comment!
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for your input. I will certainly keep it in mind when I continue with it and when I proofread it.
I felt I should clarify point number 1 as well. The "habit" and "daily occurence" refer to two different things. One refers to a ritualistic morning cup of tea, and the other to his always boiling over the milk.
Thanks again though, for taking the time out to comment.
@ dd: hey. that was a long time back man. i thought u saw that and chose to ignore the cmnt. Anyways... no problem, i enjoy reading and reviewing not so much proof reading tho'. i've kinda forgotten what it was maybe i'll come back later and read it again and ur comment here will make more sense to me then.... but keep writing ....
after class 10, for the first time i can say i genuinely enjoyed a poem.
Hi johnny cigar... dunno who you are but thank you for that comment. I wrote this poem yesterday after 7 yrs of total blankness in poetry....
well the urge to create is inherent in all....its just gets subdued by mundane daily rhetorics...and insignificant banters...
few can see within themselves and explore ones potential....you say 7 years of blankness - I say 7 years of "ruminations" :)..the important part is that the light kept burning within....
very well versed....look forward to reading more...
and BTW - yes pictures of "feathers" :)
and Go GIANTS :P.....
ha haaa ceedy, i see it very very differently.
muse is such a fascinating aspect in itself. It is its own master. It went away it came back. that's all there is to it. that is the beauty of it.... No logic.
And what is this??
GIANTS??!!
NOT A PATRIOT I SEE....
TRAITOR!!! :P
Oh I could so relate to the moments you referred to here! Your terming them 'fleeting' is so apt!And the moment passing also captures the essence so well!
I didnt know you were a mom to a three year old. There is another preethi who reads my blog--and I wondered why she left a comment twice! Then realised it was you!
BTW, my name is preeti too :-) (And official spelling is preethi)
nicely written poem.....:)
hopefully things are ok over there after GIANTS WIN..........:)
I am sure you`ll agree...It was greatest NFL GAME EVER!!!
Your post reminded me of an old hindi song that I love ..
aane waala pal jaane waala hai
ho sake to isme zindagi bitaa do
pal jo ye jaane waala hai ..
Now see thats the problem with feelings (like those mentioned), they are always fleeting. Sometimes I think we should be able to capture them and hold onto them but then I think they wouldn't feel the way they feel if they weren't short lived feelings.
@ ps:wow! that makes 3 preethis. I just topped another blogger pal romila...... And yes, nantu's mom preethi comments here too.
Abt my thoughts tho' .... anything ones says will stay incomplete donchathink?
@ cosmic: nice. and ur cmnt reminded me of few other golden oldies.
@ deepali: yes. holding on to anything for that matter loses its value after a while. magic lies in it going away and then coming back with a rush :)
@ kp: man o man! what a game! i watched the last half hour standing! Unbelievable win by the Giants man. Got to give it to them. They were awesome. Brady wasn't his usual. cudn't get one decent gr8 pass. But Eli's groundbreaking throw did it. Gr8 defence. Gr8 form. In the spirit of the game, a truly grand end. But
i had didn't look up for full 5 mints after the end! :( Heartbreaking for me...... getting on okay today. Thanks for asking !! :)
Traitor - Patriot !!!! - I am in real sense - av moved out of homeland to this freaking homeland wid security...
but wat a gr8 game - brilliant!!!!!
the way it was - patriots just played the way they did....but giants upped their game lots of nothces...
av taken half a day from office - going to the victory parade....if i get gud pics...will let you know :)

A Random Reading invokes the feeling of Deja Vu where the words seem so familiar and yet thy are not.
The Fragrance of the first drops of rain on the sun scorched and water parched earth, stir a long forgotten love
Memories, a window to the past and a door to the future, and your post, and inspiration to write again!
Keep writing,

@ ceedy: Hey, Partiots gave a v.poor performance but that it is not to belittle Giants' achievement. They were just too good. And yes 'the parade'. Lucky u The weather is good today :) post whatever pics u get. will tune into ur post for cmnts...
@ cruel intentions: hey, those are a few 'can't be captured thoughts' right there......nice....
this post was inspired by a particular story in 'npr' and the rain .... so i guess the inspiration gets passed on...
Ah Ha! Funny how 'Can't be captured thoughts' were captured right dere!
Anyways, Will keep on coming back for more!
Cruel
Smelling old books :) I loved the lines
"there is a love hidden somewhere,
she peeps out now and then, how i love her games"
lovely post.
@ preethi: thanks :)
Preethi, Preethi, and Preethi:)
So many of you here. Wow!
How we all turn wordless, speechless just when we are about to pen them down, the moments, the fleeting bits of life! Happens to all of us but effectively worded here. I can almost hear the tume of this poetic work.
I wonder what keeps you from writing more! Wrote somethings. Thought would share them with you! So Do read em when you find time!
Regards
Cruel!
