Dream!
It is snowing heavily here people. Yipee! It is just so beautiful.
It's white, it's pure and it is wild! That is the best part.
Being pure and wild.
Guess what it reminds me of?
The Sun!
I know. It's odd. I think Tanya gets her fixation on Sun from me....
But i just can't help it. I miss that bright, shiny guy today.
So i thought i could post something bright and beautiful.
This was shot at Highway 1, San Francisco.
Isn't it beautiful? My dream drive. My dream shot.
The Mountain, the sea, the bridge, the sky, and the road- all in one shot.
I clicked it during my California visit last december.
I first heard about it in a movie....
'Shawshank Redemption', one of the few masterpieces that Hollywood has delivered.
Tim Robbins talks about 'hope' to Morgan Freeman and describes a place much like the one above.
You hear something like that and you realise all of a sudden how beautiful the world you are living in, actually is! I wanted to see what it feels like to have mountain to your left and the Pacific to your right and move with the wind and watch the sunset as if there were no tomorrow.....
I did.

beautiful post. makes me wanna escape from this semi-cubicle! :)
Great picture. I agree about the drive down highway 1. We did that in dec 06 and it was memorable! Another one I would recommend is to drive from Miami to Key west. You have ocean on both sides of the road :)
I love the drive too.. I lived in the bay area for a while.. we just loved the 17 mile drive.. Carmel Beach and all the surroundings!! I also love the ride from LA to Malibu.. again Mountains on one side will Million dollar homes no less and the sea on the other.. that is a lovely drive too :)
ahaaaa
so true about shawshank...
well i have not done this drive even tho been to SF....
like cosmic above the miami - key west is cool too....
also went to a spot similar at the end of San Diego....jutting out into the pacific......
but i love today..snowbulous for me :) sun can wait (sorry tanya)
So true...the world indeed is a beautiful place, only we never stop long enough to notice it.
Nice blog!
@ smitha: Thank you smitha! :) I'll take up the tag but it's gonna take sometime though. I'm so bad at writing something on a prompt. Hope that's ok....

Hi Preethi - Nice to know you too and read your blog :)
No, I am in a seemingly misplaced profession - An I bank! :)
@ ceedy: sure man... it is my bro's camera. he's a photography freak.. will ask him and send you the camera link. But for now.
It is a sony,
10 mega pixels.
Image size: 3872 * 2592
Time: 4:15 pm
I think it has both manual and digi options on it with different lens stuff et al. mmm .... will send the model link by today...
@ceedy, @preethi: Its a Nikon D80. :) You can check it out here.
@prabhu
@preethi
I assumed it to be a Nikon D80 or Sony Alpha 100 from her description - so its not just a digital camera - its a digital SLR preethi....that makes all the difference in the picture :)
thanks for sharing
Oops! he hee gadgets are not my turf guys! My bro has known it for a very long time now and now you do ceedy... :)
Hey.. wanted to leave this for you... about Obama and outsourcing!
Take a look.. I am thinking I need to do a post on this soon... of all the thick headed things.. what does outsourcing have to do violence?

Great shot!!!! I think if I ever did a Titanic-inspired "I'm the Queen of the World" shout, it'd have to be on a mountain top with the wild sea in front. But oh yeah, I'd definitely need the sun too :)
@ kp: he heee good one there! Lemme add to it
'so was Preethi' ;)
@ smitha: thanks :) but oops yes misplaced it is!....
@ shalom: My my. Long time no see. nice to see you back here. And yeah when 'titanic' was released i used to imagine being on a ship doing the 'i'm the queen of the world bit' he heee. Yeah mountain and sea would be quite awesome too.
@ preethi: will look at it rightaway. by the sound of it you seem pretty annoyed....mmmm....
That's a very nice picture. Before reading the post, I thought you picked a pic up from google image search or something but man being there must be something.
It's funny how we all love nature but consciously or unconsciously keep doing things that destroy it a little by little.
@ deepali: oh it was something alright, literally took my breath away... and yes destrying we are.. but nature is smart, It is going to survive, humans though i'm not sure....might kill each other up!
Aah! Big Sur area on Highway 1. There are many many many beautiful spots/ places along Hwy 1 and Hwy 101 in California and Oregon. Drove from Tillamook (OR) to Santa Barbara (CA) - amazingly beautiful. If you enjoy scenic drives, add UTAH to your travel list - see photos here http://atulks.myphotoalbum.com
